Offshore Racing for 2025

In 2025, LCSC will once again be working with Hugh Styles, a former two time British Olympian, and coach of the British team in the last 4 Olympic Games, to further develop offshore racing within the club. It is also a Fastnet year!

Our 2025 offshore race calendar launch will be on Tuesday, 12th November 19:30 . Please join us to get a full update on both the upcoming training and racing events for 2025.

Our race training program is aimed at three levels:

a) Those new to Offshore Racing

b) Intermediates looking to Progress

c) Race Skipper Training (this will focus on experienced racers looking to become skippers, and also existing race skippers looking to improve their performance and that of their crews)

For the practical on the water race training, we will be using up to 3 boats depending on demand for each training session. The format of each training session will be dictated to some extent by who has signed up, but we'll endeavour to ensure you are covering new skills on each session on the water.

Each training session will have a brief before we all go out, to cover what is planned for the full training session. There will be debriefs after each day, and then a round up after the end of the training session to reinforce key learning elements.

Hot on the heels of the training, the club will be aiming to enter up to three boats in the Fastnet and other chosen offshore races during 2025, again depending on demand.
