What is it
Who is it aimed at
Serious dinghy racing run by experienced race officers which involves marked courses, correct starting sequences and prizes afterwards or at the end of the season/ championship. For more details on the types of racing we offer go to here
Anyone can enter but this is primarily aimed at the more competitive dinghy sailors.
Anything goes, forget the racing rule book because there are no race rules*. Expect the unexpected from random start sequences to courses that change size.
*Normal river rules still apply!
Great for members new to racing or not familiar with the racing rules. Aimed at members who want a more relaxed and fun taste of the thrill of racing.
Toe in the Water
Experienced helms will take out less experienced sailors, giving them informal advice and practice in a dinghy.
Aimed at newcomers who haven't sailed before and want to try sailing or those who might not have sailed for a while and want to get back into the sport.
These are fun sessions where we cruise either up or down the river (conditions permitting). We will then stop for lunch and a quick refreshments (usually at a local pub) before returning to the club.
All members are welcome to join.
Experienced instructors will help improve your sailing ability.
Different sessions are aimed at different people.
RYA levels 1&2 are ideal for those who have never sailed before.
Laser training is more suited for intermediate or experienced sailors.
