RYA Day Skipper Theory
RYA Day Skipper Theory Classroom Based
Accredited RYA Theory Course offering a comprehensive introduction to sail cruising for inexperienced skippers.
This course equips you with enough knowledge to navigate around familiar waters by day. A basic knowledge of lights is also included to introduce you to night cruising.
All theory courses are held at the Club House a.k.a Linden House, 60 Upper Mall, Hammersmith, W69TA

Course Title: RYA Day Skipper Theory
Course Cost: £405. This includes the RYA Course pack & materials. The Portland Plotter and Dividers need to be purchased in addition (£26.50)
Course Duration: 40 guided learning hours + 2 x exam papers, either as evenings and/or mixed in with weekends. NOTE: a minimum of 1.5-2 hours homework per week will be required between sessions.
It will be the responsibility of the student to catch up any missed dates. We suggest no more than 2 dates get missed.Core hours are from 19:00 - 22:00 (for evening classes) except for the first evening where registration will start from 18:30pm. Those unable to make an earlier slot can complete registration post 22:00.
On most evenings the instructors will be in from 18:00 for anyone needing to catch up hours or for some additional review.
Core hours for weekend classes are approx. 9:30 - 5pm except for the first day where registration will start promptly at 9am.
Prior Knowledge/Experience: none
What's Included: RYA Northern Hemisphere Student Pack includes assessment papers, course notes, practice charts, training almanac, certificate of completion. The Portland Plotter and dividers are an additional cost and can be secured at the time of your booking, should you wish to do so via the Club. These will then be handed out with your materials on the day. The cost runs is £26.50.

Courses for the current season are now full. We will resume running the theory courses in the autumn and following winter months again, starting around end of September / early October '24.
This calendar is usually posted by the end of June.
