Solent Cruise - Cowes Fireworks weekend

The world-famous Cowes Week yacht racing is taking place from 1st 7th August. 2026 is the 200th anniversary, and to celebrate this Bicentenary, the end of the racing on Friday will be marked by an impressive aeronautical display by the Red Arrows Hawk T1 advanced training jets, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display!
Whilst not be participating in the racing, we will feel part of the action by watching the Red Arrows and fireworks probably from the middle of the Solent. There's a fantastic festival atmosphere in Cowes all this week which extends to the weekend, with lots of entertainment including live bands performing on a stage on the quayside.
Please note that the boat will need to leave Port Hamble promptly about 4pm on Friday afternoon in order to get to Cowes in time. If you are late, then you can get the ferry across to Cowes (at your own expense) and meet the boat there.
On Saturday, we will go for a day's sail around the Solent, and may even go for a swim in Osborne Bay if the weather is good, coming back to Cowes on Saturday night to continue the festivities. We will return to Port Hamble on Sunday afternoon about 4pm.
Note that mooring fees are higher for this weekend, as it includes entrance to the quayside entertainment.
Solent Weekends are ideal for everyone, from new members to very experienced sailors. The weekends are run by our volunteer Club Skippers, who are very happy to share their knowledge with you, but please note that they are not Instructors.
Please note that itineraries for Solent Weekends are subject to change depending on wind direction, tides and skipper's inclination!
COST: The price of this weekend is £267 per person (not including food & drink or mooring fees and fuel which will be shared amongst all on board).
