eve Fri 10th Sun 12th April - Solent Cruise to Cowes
Our first Solent cruising weekend of the year will probably involve a relatively simple passage around the Solent to shake off those cobwebs and get us back to speed with sailing. Options could include dropping anchor in Osbourne Bay, with views of Queen Victoria's favourite seaside holiday home Osbourne House. We might sail out east to see the impressive Victorian forts in the middle of the Solent, or alternatively sail west towards the iconic Needles. We're likely to spend Saturday night in the popular seaside town of Cowes on the Isle of Wight.
The plan is to meet on the boat in Port Hamble about 5-6pm, before walking into the picturesque village of Hamble for a pub supper. On Saturday morning, after breakfast and a safety briefing, we will set off down the River Hamble and out into the Solent. We will return to Port Hamble on Sunday afternoon about 4pm.
Solent Weekends are ideal for everyone, from new members to very experienced sailors. The weekends are run by our volunteer Club Skippers, who are very happy to share their knowledge with you, but please note that they are not Instructors.
Please note that itineraries for Solent Weekends are subject to change depending on wind direction, tides and skipper's inclination!
COST: The price of this weekend is £235 per person (not including food & drink or mooring fees and fuel which will be shared amongst all on board).
