Solent by Night cruise: Friday 21st - Sunday 23rd May
Nearly all of you will have sailed throughout the Solent, from Bembridge to Yarmouth, Langston to Lymington, but how many have sailed it at night? Yes, with the sky switched off and nothing but the nav lights to guide you, the Solent feels completely different under the stars.
So please pack your torch and join us for a weekend cruise with a difference.
We will meet up on Friday evening at Hamble Point (Marina TBC), have a safety briefing and then head out for a short night sail, perhaps anchoring up somewhere until morning. Saturday morning will start with breakfast on board and a chat about the night before and the plans for the following night, which could include viewing some sector lights for harbour entry or watching the container ships enter the Solent. This is great practice for budding day and coastal skippers, and a different insight into sailing for comp crew.
Your Skipper will be an experienced offshore sailor who is a member of Corinthians and has volunteered to Skipper this trip. Whilst not an instructor, they will be very happy to share their knowledge and love of sailing. You can get as involved in the sailing as much as you like, and everyone helps with cooking and clearing up.
We will return to Hamble Point at around 3.00pm on Sunday afternoon for a quick tidy-up before heading home.
The charter yachts will be 35-40 foot and comfortable for 6 people, but obviously dependent upon final numbers. Please be aware it is likely you will be sharing a cabin.
The price of this weekend is great value at £200 per person (not including food & drink or mooring fees and fuel which will be shared amongst all on board).
Please note, the sailing will be starting on the Friday evening so arriving on Saturday morning will not be an option for this weekend.
