Lasers/ILCA's for Beginners
This event is for LCSC members and students only.
By booking onto this event, you are confirming you have read, understood and accepted the Dinghy Terms and Conditions which can be seen HERE.
For anyone who has RYA Level 2 or similar experience, we'll teach you how to confidently rig and sail an ILCA (Laser) racing dingy - including the differences to other boats you might have sailed and how to get the best out of the dinghy.
The session will be a mix of both shore based and on-the-water training, and last approximately 5 hours.
Suitable for the following levels of experience:
Improver (RYA Level 2 or similar)
If you have RYA Level 1 but would still like to join this session, please send an email to our Chief Instructor at cidinghies@lcsc.org.uk, and they will assess your experience.
Intermediate (Greater than RYA level 2, with further experience sailing on the river)
Please arrive in good time as we will be starting promptly.
We also offer various other training sessions to help you improve your level of experience, including: RYA Level 1 and 2 courses, Beginners and Improvers sessions, Start Racing, and various talks from world-class sailors.

Cost: £75 which includes dinghy and equipment hire (Wetsuits are available to hire at an additional £7per sailing session)PLEASE NOTE:
No refunds will be given if a cancellation is made the week prior to the session, unless a replacement can be found.
By joining this event you agree and hereby declare that:
I am fit to participate in the sailing session and will wear an appropriate buoyancy aid at all times when on the ramp, the pontoon or on the water and follow instructions given by the LCSC instructors.
Although I am covered for third party liability by LCSC insurers, I understand that owing to the nature of the sporting activity, LCSC cannot take any liability for personal injury or other damages unless proved negligent.
