J80's at Queen Mary
Once again, Royal Thames YC is allowing us to use its fleet of eight matched J-80 keelboats.
This event has been oversubscribed the last few times we've run it, so best to book early. Places are limited to 40 (assuming we have a sufficient number of competent helms). We aim to have 10 crews of four, and everyone should get around eight races plus two breaks when they can watch the racing from one of the RIBs.
If you would like to take part, please login and book your place as soon as possible. Your place will be reserved upon payment - for payment methods, please contact Berenice at admin@lcsc.org.uk.
J-80s are 4-man keelboats, and half way between a dinghy and a yacht so this is a great chance for our dinghy and yacht sailors alike to participate in our sport together. The format will be 'sprints', which means getting in lots of short races and is usually great fun - everyone will certainly be busy! Royal Thames will be race officers and provide a briefing and RIB support.
No prior experience is necessary to take part in this.
The venue is Queen Mary SC, which is a safe stretch of inland water, half an hour's drive from LCSC. Post-racing beers and meal out nearer to LCSC is optional.
Cost is a very reasonable £75 per person.
