Course will cover:

Selecting paddling kit and safety equipment appropriate for river conditions

Basic trip preparation - setting up a board with a fin, inflating air boards

Access and egress from pontoons, foreshore and draw docks

Getting standing and moving between kneeling and standing

Balance on the board

body positioning

foot positions

moving on the board to adjust

Forward paddling

holding the paddle - best technique

straight line paddling - techniques to achieve without frequent side changes

efficient paddling using larger muscles

rotation

Basic turns

Sweep turn

Reverse sweep

Stopping the board and reversing away from danger
