Ionian Cruise, 18-25 September (860)
The Ionian Sea off the west coast of Greece is a great area for offshore sailing. The daily routine is simple: wake up in a lovely Greek harbour, have breakfast ashore or on the boat, sail off to a quiet island or remote bay, drop the anchor for a swim in the blue waters and have lunch. In the afternoon sail to another lovely Greek harbour, go ashore and experience the local tavernas, then do the same again the next day!
This is also a great opportunity to practice your Mediterranean sailing including stern-to mooring, anchoring with shorelines and untangling crossed anchor chains.
Vasiliki is just down the road from the charter base and we have scheduled this trip so that you can combine the two should you wish.
The details are:
Fly to Prevaza (Aktion) on BA, EasyJet or TUI to arrive in the morning of Sunday 18 Sept. There are plenty of flights as the tour operators all arrange Sunday transfers. The charter company will meet us at the airport and organise the transfers for us. There is then time to chill and to buy supplies before taking delivery of the boats in the mid afternoon. After the handover we slip the lines and head off to our first night, probably on the Island of Meganissi.
For the next six days we will explore the area, stops are likely to include Fiskadho on Kefalonia, Vathi on Ithica, Petalas, Kastos, Sivota and Atoko before arriving back at the charter base at 9.00m on Sunday 25 September, ready to transfer back to the airport or take a short trip down the coast to Vasiliki.
The price for this trip is £660. Unlike most Mediterranean charters there is nothing extra to pay for fuel, cleaning and insurance. The price does not include flights, airport transfers, food and drink, and any mooring fees, which are actually quite rare in this part of Greece. SUPs can be rented for each boat should you wish.

The deposit is £200 with the balance of £460 due late June.
