Solent By Night

We've all seen the solent many times during daylight hours. This trip is going to focus on seeing the solent by night.

We'll be navigating the solent using the multitude of lights buoys and beacons on offer, and working our way into anchorage and harbours under the hours of darkness

We'll choose the destinations to be visited a few days before the event when we've a good idea on what the weather is doing. After meeting and checking out the boat, we'll set sail on Friday evening at dusk. All going to plan we'll sail for about 4 hours, before ending in a marina. Saturday we'll have a later start, and do some day sailing before having a long break in the afternoon, and heading out again on Saturday night. On Sunday we'll head back to Hamble for the usual end time of 4pm.

The intention will be to cover a number of places over the weekend, so the sailing hours will be a little higher than the usual weekend. A great opportunity to see a whole new aspect of the Solent, and get some night hours under your belt.

Cost : £180

With Covid restrictions, some accommodation will be needed to be used on shore. This will be arranged on a boat by boat basis, and split amongst the crew of each boat.

This trip is open to all members and teens of 15 years and older accompanied by a parent.
