It's time to dust off the sailing gloves for the first club trip of the year!

We are off to the Eastern tip of the Isle of Wight to visit Bembridge, a privately owned harbour bound by sand spits on the seaward side and an interesting entrance channel that twists and turns from St Helen's Fort to Bembridge Point.

Once inside a visitors marina welcomes everyone into what is claimed to be the largest village in England with 4,000 residents!

As the village sits along the coast there are beach walks and rock pools to explore, but for those who just want to chill out there are plenty of local shops and pubs to pass the time in.

This would be a great weekend for recently qualified Day Skippers who want to practice precise tidal calculations and navigating a drying lagoon harbour.

The charter yachts will be 35-40 foot and comfortable for 6-8 people, but obviously dependant upon final numbers. We will meet up on Friday evening at Port Hamble Marina and may have dinner at the Banana Wharf bar & restaurant or at a different pub in Hamble Village. Saturday morning is likely to start with breakfast on board and the safety briefing before we set sail. Your Skipper will be an experienced offshore sailor who is a member of Corinthians and has volunteered to Skipper this trip. Whilst not an instructor, they will be very happy to share their knowledge and love of sailing. You can get as involved in the sailing as much as you like, and we all help with cooking and clearing up.

We will return to Port Hamble Marina at around 4.00pm on Sunday afternoon for a quick tidy-up before heading home.

The price of this weekend is a bargain at £120 per person (not including food & drink or mooring fees and fuel which will be shared amongst all on board).
