Points Series Handicaps
Dinghy handicaps have been reviewed and the following handicaps and race starts will now be used. The new handicaps are intended to encourage new and less experienced sailors to join the racing. Handicaps will be reviewed at the end of each series.Standard rig Lasers, Laser Radials and 4.7's have their own points series with first 3 positions sailing one rig, and best Radial or 4.7, taking prizes. There is no handicap in Laser Points Series or Cups.
Race Starts:
For points series racing the Laser fleet (Standard rigs, Radials and 4.7's) will start separately, before the Enterprise series and Handicap fleets which will start together. (The R.O. will have discretion to start all fleets together depending on circumstances.) Enterprises will also score in the handicap series.
For handicap and pursuit cup races all dinghies will start together.
The following Club Handicap Portsmouth Number will apply for the Handicap Series for each Class:
X1-850 X0-900 Finn
1000 Laser Standard
1070 Laser Radial
1122 Laser 4.7
1185. Enterprise
1115 Vision
1140 Lark-1075
For open events hosted by the club current PY handicaps will be used unless overwritten by the event Sailing Instructions.
