Dinghies

LCSC offers a full range of dinghy sailing opportunities. From complete beginners up to the most experienced Olympic class sailors, there is something for everyone.

Who is it aimed at

Championships & Cup Races

Serious dinghy racing run by experienced race officers which involves marked courses, correct starting sequences and prizes afterwards or at the end of the season for the championship races and Cups and prizes on the day for the Cup races. For more details on the types of racing we offer go to here

Anyone can enter but this is primarily aimed at the more competitive dinghy sailors.

General Dinghy Sail

A chance to practice your race starts in a less formal manner on shorter course or simply come to have a free sail around the river, the choice is yours.

Aimed at newcomers who haven't sailed before and want to try sailing or those who might not have sailed for a while and want to get back into the sport.

Riverbanking

These are fun sessions where we cruise either up or down the river (conditions permitting). We will then stop for lunch and a quick refreshments (usually at a local pub) before returning to the club.

All members are welcome to join.

Thames Turtles

One to one child/adult ratio. Children under 4 years ride in the safety boat. Children over 4 years may sail in dinghies or use paddleboards.

Ages 2-9

Thames 10's

Child/adult ratios depend on experience and abilities. Thames 10's are encouraged to try out all craft on offer at the club.

Ages 10-15

Training Sessions

Experienced instructors will help improve your sailing ability.

Different sessions are aimed at different people.

RYA levels 1&2 are ideal for those who have never sailed before.

Laser training is more suited for intermediate or experienced sailors.
