RYA Day Skipper - Theory & Practical Combined

This 9 Day Combined Course is an efficient way to achieve BOTH your Day Skipper Theory AND Day Skipper Practical qualifications in a short period of time. Spend the first 4 days in the classroom at Linden House completing the Day Skipper Theory. On the Tuesday night, board the yacht in Hamble and spend the next 5 days completing the practical course and finishing on the Sunday evening.

This is an accredited RYA Theory Course offering a comprehensive introduction to sail cruising for inexperienced skippers. This course equips you with enough knowledge to navigate around familiar waters by day. A basic knowledge of lights is also included to introduce you to night cruising. Learn to skipper a short passage with the instructor on hand to give advice and encouragement and ensure your safety. Experience being in charge, taking credit when it all goes well and being responsible when it doesn't.

This Day Skipper course will be endorsed as tidal. See the RYA Website for more details on this qualification.

Before this course, if you are not sure that your sailing is up to speed, a good way to learn is on Solent weekns away with LCSC. This will help teach you to sail and handle a yacht.

If it is just help with navigation that you need, you should take the the Day Skipper Shorebased Course instead.

LCSC Membership Offer - there is a waiver of the £50 joining fee if you apply to be a member of LCSC when signing up for the course.
