Boat Mooring Weekend Practical Course
LCSC is pleased to be able to offer to members this course which is unique to LCSC.
The course will be run by an experienced and qualified instructor on a suitable coded cruising yacht and will give you the opportunity
to learn with other LCSC members.
The course will cover:
Mooring on to pontoons under engine inc
Use of tide
Appreciation of wind
Use of mooring lines inc springing on and off
Simulation of marina berths etc
Mooring on to mooring buoys under power and sail
Use of tide
Use of wind
Etc
Participants will sleep on the boat, at a variety of
marinas or other moorings, either on the Isle of Wight or the mainland.
Suitable clothing is essential but waterproof outerwear ("foulies") suitable for
sailing can be hired for the weekend.
Most meals are provided on the boat, but you will normally have the opportunity to visit pubs
and restaurants ashore.
These cost of the course includes yacht charter, tuition and provisions.
Mooring fees, fuel and foulie hire will be charged extra.
Suitable for:
Dinghy sailors who want to have some experience of handling a yacht, Competent Crew who want some practice before taking Day Skipper, Skippers
of any level who want more practice of boat mooring in the Solent. If already a skipper you can gain more experience of skippering your crew as
you tie the boat up.
