Charles Frater - Instructor

Charles is an experienced sailor and member of London Corinthian SC. In the course Charles will provide practical demonstrations supported by a training video. There will be the opportunity to put into practice the knots Charles has demonstrated.

1. Normal looped splice
2. Back splice
3. Sheet bend
4. Wall and crown knots
5. Reef knot
6. Monkey's fist
7. Clove hitch
8. Rolling hitch
9. Turk's head
10. Bowline
11. Round turn and two half hitches
12. Splicing two ropes together

If you have the following list of items then bring them along. If not, it does not matter, there will be equipement provided.

• Sharp knife
• Fid / Spike / Shackle spike
• Sailors palm
• Needle
• Thread
