Cowes Week
Racing against your colleagues in the world's premier regatta at the centre of yacht racing, Cowes. Racing takes place in the mid to western solent, sometimes as far as the Needles lighthouse. Regatta price includes berthing in Cowes Yacht Haven in sunsail class and entertainments tickets on the night(s) before your race day. Members can book one or as many days as they like online (or directly if racing with Peter Hopps).
In 2009 LCSC entered two boats in Sunsail class with close racing between both club skippers and their crews and in the Sunfast fleet with 'Knight' finishing 5th overall.
Crews changeover the evening before racing and new crew members should aim to arrive early evening for dinner with their new crew mates. Following a safety briefing and discussion about aims and crew roles in the morning you will be on the water early for practice and then enjoy a full days racing on the Solent.
