LCSC St Vaast JOG Success

lcsc flag flies in marina

The London Corinthian battle flag was flying high in St Vaast last weekend at the end of the Cowes - St. Vaast JOG Race. Three London Corinthian-crewed yachts took part in the race:

These yachts came 1st, 7th and 20th respectively out of a start of 25 yachts.

The race started at 19:00 on the Friday evening (30th April) and, after some initial problems with very light winds exiting the Solent, there was a very enjoyable night crossing to France by moonlight, with none of the previous day's rain. See the JOG web site for reports from some of the other yachts taking part.

The competitors arrived at St Vaast from Saturday morning through Saturday afternoon. (Ed: The weather changed very suddenly in the morning turning a nice spinnaker run in sun and light mist to a beat against wind and tide, in the rain.) Even the late arrivals were in time for a "car boot" drinks party at the marina, followed (for LCSC crews) by an excellent dinner at the Cafe du Port (thanks to Geraldine for organising).

Well done to all who took part for a set of very creditable results.
