Following a spate of damage and theft from cars and of cycles at Linden
House and the surrounding streets, Members are reminded to take care not to
leave items visible in their cars and to increase bicycle security wherever
possible.
Although bicycle theft at Linden House is rare, a cycle recently left
overnight attached to the railings by a D padlock was recently stolen.
Members are advised wherever possible not to leave cycles chained overnight
outside the premises. If you cannot ride your cycle away from the premises
following a visit, please speak to the Manager or his staff about securing
the cycle temporarily in an appropriate space in the boatyard area.
It is also noted that many Members when visiting at night prefer to leave
their bicycles chained to the railings between the front car park boundary
wall and the flagpole, as the area is better illuminated by street lights.
Members are reminded that bicycles must not be attached to the flagpole
shrouds at any time as this is known to damage the wires and weaken the
supporting structure.
For fire safety reasons bicycles are not permitted to be left inside Linden
House.
