Harley Cup update #3
The Harley Cup is being held on 18 December with a 14.00 pm start - wolf!
This a great opportunity for the offshore sailors to join in with the dinghy members and compete in the event on the Thames River outside the Club . The Cup was kindly donated by Chris and Maggie Eade in 2003 after their great dane 'Harely,' to encourage closer association between the dinghy and offshore members of the Club.
There will be two races on the day. For the first race, a member of the dinghy team will pair up with a member of the offshore group to 'show them the ropes'. For the second race, the roles will be reversed, where the offshore members will skipper and dinghy person will crew.
The event was a lot of fun last year for all and a highly recommended opportunity for offshore members to enjoy a fun day out on the Thames River with their fellow members. Have a look at the website for some fun pictures of the 2004 event.
You do not need to have experience in dinghies and this is also a fun opportunity for new members to be involved in a Club event.
A hot curry we be served afterwards with drinks / presentation at the bar.
If you are interested, offshore sailors please contact Julie Varcoe-Cocks by 2 December2005 by e-mail on Julie.varcoe-cocks@vanquisbank.co.uk or phone 07817496538. Any interested dinghy sailors please contact Simon Ashenden/ Jeremy Whiting
