Taittinger Royal Solent Regatta 2018

20th - 22 July 2018

For the fifth year in a row we will be entering the Taittinger Royal Solent Regatta at Yarmouth.This regatta is hosted by the Royal Solent Yacht Club at Yarmouth and sponsored by the Champagne House Taittinger.

Our boat this year will be Jolly Jellyfish a J122 from Jellyfish Charters; some of you will remember Jolly Jellyfish from previous LCSC outings to Taittinger.

As a way of getting the race crew up to speed in advance of Taittinger we have also booked her for a training weekend on the 2nd and 3rd June.

So this is 5 days sailing for the price of 3 ....

For the 2nd-3rd June weekend;

We will be based at Cowes Yacht Haven joining the boat on Saturday morning. Though it may be possible for people to sleep on board Friday night. We will then spend Saturday and Sunday getting up to speed on how the boat works. Peter Hopps, our Chief Instructor Offshore, will be on board for the training weekend teaching the crew all it needs to know about making the boat go faster…. and should be able to turn you into a dynamic race crew.

For Taittinger Weekend

20th-22nd July. We pick up the boat at 10.00am on Friday morning in Cowes Yacht Haven. Practice on Friday and moor up in Yarmouth for the Tattinger reception on Friday evening. Race on Saturday and attend the Towers Party in Yarmouth in the evening. Race again on Sunday morning, sail back to Cowes and depart from the boat about 5.00pm on Sunday afternoon.

Please make sure you are available for the full 5 sailing days

as crew needs to operate like a well-oiled machine in order to be competitive.

The price includes race fees, mooring and fuel, breakfast and lunch on board and entry to the Friday and Saturday parties.

You will have to pay for meals on the Friday and Saturday evenings.

The Offshore Terms and Conditions apply, please see HERE for details.

Please also be aware that since we will be racing there is a higher risk of damage than for cruising.
