A one day course 0900 to 1700 hrs by Mike Prescott (RYA F/A instructor)
This is a beginner's course, which assumes no prior experience and is intended to be both enjoyable and informative. It introduces basic first aid techniques especially suited to problems that may occur on board a yacht or motor cruiser such as resuscitation and maintenance of victims of "man over board" as well as the usual cuts breaks and sprains that we can all suffer in rougher weather.
The course is equally suited to both sail and powerboat users. This course is essential for all of today's boat users.
The student is assessed by brief exercises during the course and "hands on practice".
A course completion certificate is issued to students who successfully complete the course.
Although membership is not required for the WEEKEND AND ONE-DAY courses, we would like you to join, and there is also a special introductory membership available for students attending the courses (£40). This is a non sailing associate membership of this very friendly and welcoming sailing club, with its unique position on the bank of the Thames. Please contact Chris Eade at the London Corinthian Sailing Club for further details.
Tea and coffee, drinks and food are available in the club bar, but are not included in the course price.
