Our friends at Sons of the Thames provide and maintain the equipment in the basement gymnasium.
LCSC members are welcome to use the gym during daytime working hours (i.e. off-peak). LCSC members are also permitted to use the gym during peak periods, however the rowers have priority at all times. Peak periods are usually immediately after work and at certain times at the weekend. A flexible approach to the actual timing of the peak periods is required to tie-in with team training. Peak times are therefore determined by the Sons and not by the Trust (who own the building). Any rower using the gym will be able to advise you of the current peak training periods.

During certain times (i.e. in the build-up for the racing season) priority use during peak periods on a space-availability basis will only be for members representing Sons or the LCSC at competitive racing events. For the avoidance of doubt, peak time priority will not be given to members who mainly race against their own club colleagues (e.g. Points Series) or individuals who principally race competitively for other clubs and not the LCSC or Sons!
For safety reasons LCSC members are required to meet and 'buddy' with a Sons user during their first visit as some of the equipment is 'tuned' for rowing needs and not general fitness. A good way to do this is to visit Linden House on Thursday nights (Sons' club night). If you require introduction to a Sons member please ask the Manager or bar staff for assistance.
Access to the gym is permitted (via the coded basement front door) at all reasonable hours. Music and loud noise should be kept to a minimum when the ballroom above is occupied.
Member's guests are not permitted to use the facilities. Similarly, a restriction will also be placed on unsupervised children and adolescents using the gym (although separate arrangements are in place for local schools to use the facilities during off-peak periods).
By using the gym you are deemed to accept the risks involved and agree that neither the Trust nor the clubs can be held liable for self-inflicted harm caused by using the equipment provided by Sons.
