Making Waves in Search for Missing Lotto Millionaire

With just days to go until the missing ticket is due to expire (23 February 2017), we called on surprised sailors and landlubbers to check their tickets from the unique Team GB-inspired Lotto Medal Draw on 27 August 2016 for the winning Millionaire Raffle, RUBY 7100 1234.
The one-off Lotto draw on 27 August 2016 was held to thank National Lottery players for the support they have given Team GB through playing the lottery.
We took to the water in our fleet of dinghies, three of which we bought thanks to National Lottery funding attracting plenty of attention as we sailed in a nice breeze along the Thames.
The National Lottery has invested over £5 billion in grassroots sport to date, with our club just one of those that has benefitted. Keen sailor and volunteer at the Club Warren Kendall who was helping in the millionaire search said: "The purchase of our clubhouse was one of the first projects awarded lottery funding through Sport England in 1996. This funding safeguarded our building for sports use in perpetuity and is an invaluable resource for a club such as ours, meaning we can offer dinghy and offshore sailing and training to people all across London.
"Through National Lottery funding the Club has also been able to install a pontoon and develop a new sailor skills programme, thereby encouraging more people to experience the fun, camaraderie and challenge of sailing right here in the nation's capital.
"We are delighted to support the hunt and hope we find that lucky ticket-holder. As a club we already feel like lottery winners due to the National Lottery funding we have enjoyed, now let's find that other lottery winner in the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham!"
Keeping his feet firmly on dry land but nevertheless keen to find the lucky winner, Andy Carter, Senior Winners' Advisor at The National Lottery said: "We're eager to find the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham's mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings – this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody's life. Team GB's success in Rio, when their haul was a whopping 67 medals, was outstanding and worthy of celebration with an extra special Lotto draw, now we just need to find the Borough's winner to help them celebrate their own win!"
The National Lottery plays a unique role in supporting the UK's elite athletes, with no one contributing more to elite sport in the UK than National Lottery players. British athletes have won over 700 Olympic and Paralympic medals since National Lottery funding was first awarded to elite athletes in 1997.
If no one comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline, then the prize money, plus all the interest it has generated, will go to help National Lottery-funded projects across the UK. The National Lottery changes the lives of individuals as well as communities – players raise, on average, over £30 million for National Lottery-funded projects every week.
With all National Lottery draws, players have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their prize if they have the winning ticket.
